Lille OSC has finalized the signing of Moroccan forward Hamza Igamane, 22, on a deal until 2030. This transfer, concluded after three months of negotiations, strengthens an attack weakened by the departures of Jonathan David, Chuba Akpom, and Rémy Cabella. The club, currently 8th in Ligue 1 with 0 goals scored or conceded this season, is counting on Igamane to revitalize its offensive play.

Who is Hamza Igamane?

With 16 goals and 3 assists last season for Rangers, Igamane scored against Nice and Tottenham in the Europa League. His versatile profile, capable of playing as a playmaker, appeals to Bruno Genesio. « It's very good news, he can play in multiple positions », said the Lille coach.

Why this transfer is crucial

With Giroud (39) as the only center-forward, Lille needed a backup. Igamane, signed for just over €10M, fills this gap. « We have eight offensive players for four positions », Genesio notes, highlighting the depth of the attack.

What's next?

Lille's transfer focus shifts to defense. A left-back is a priority to challenge Romain Perraud. Several options are being explored, but no deal has been reached yet. In central defense, Nathan Ngoy and Alexsandro form a solid duo, while Maxima Goffi (17) could emerge.
